The European Chemical Industry Council (Cefic), based in Brussels, is the leading organization representing the European chemical industry before the EU institutions. Founded in 1972, it serves as the forum for thousands of large and small companies, promoting the sector’s sustainability and competitiveness in Europe.
Marco Mensink has served as Director General of the European Chemical Industry Council (CEFIC) since May 2016. In this role, he helps shape the strategy and direction of the European chemical industry, which comprises more than 31 national federations and 650 members and affiliates across Europe. Mensink also serves as Secretary General of the International Council of Chemical Associations (ICCA), which represents the global chemical industry.
